Outdoor Play
All work and no play can make jack a dull boy. A sound mind and a sound body is important for your child's overall growth. A typical day at our school starts off with children playing outdoors - slide, sand play, monkey bars etc. Our experience has shown that children ease into the routine when they start off with some free play.
Physical Education
Kick ball, bounce ball, catch ball, basket ball, hula hoops, balancing acts with bean bags, animal walks, bubbles, group songs, group games, yoga, mime, chalk fun, EPL activities etc. are just some ways in which your child develops his/ her large motor skills.
Music and Movement
Yeah! let's put those little ears and tongues to work with music and movement. Here's where children learn to use their ears to listen, eyes to follow the teacher, and sing with all their might while moving to the tune. Nursery rhymes, songs that impart concepts, songs with actions, shlokas etc. make learning an absolutely delightful experience for all.
Fine Motor Activities
Your child will color, cut, fold, trace, paste, paint, bead, call for teacher's attention, etc. All these activities are prewriting exercises and help to develop the hand muscles, improve coordination skills, and foster creative talents.
Phonics, Numbers and more...
Your little one will discover that learning can be fun and will absorb like a sponge. Our teachers use flash cards, flip charts, worksheets, montessori equipment, audio / video tapes, games and much more to educate children about letters, sounds, reading, numbers, colors, shapes, etc. We prepare your child to be both academically competent and confident.
Snack time
No matter how well you pack your child's snack bag, he is always interested in his neighbor's snack. Snack period is also a time when they listen to music while munching on their favorites; one of many multi sensorial time. To encourage a healthy diet, we have Fridays dedicated for healthy snacks.
Circle Time with Stories and Books
Story time is when the children put their ears to work - to develop good listening skills and subsequently comprehend. We work with the children to improve their attention span and make connections between the book, the print, the pictures, and what they are hearing. Fluency in reading is an essential prerequisite for improved vocabulary and comprehension; hence, earlier the better.
Show and tell
Yes! kids love to show and tell to their friends. We set the stage for children to share their experiences with peers and teachers. It could be anything: a favorite toy, a photograph, a book, or even an experience. Sharing can promote freedom of expression without any apprehension.
Video Time
What we teach is what they see in addition to some fun educational videos to reinforce what they have been learning. Children have a longer attention span towards the screen and we thought of using it to endorse the process of learning.
Computers
We all know that kids today are much smarter compared to what we were at that age. Most of us were exposed to computers as adults. Computers are a great interactive tool, and the software we use will really challenge them in many different ways. We want to dispel any fear of this wonderful machine.
Guided Playtime
Children will be exposed to a wide choice of educational toys: board games, puzzles, blocks, playdough, shape sorter, pattern blocks, beads, tangrams and so on and so forth. We help them to get to the next stage, but give them an opportunity to be independent thinkers. Development of their cognition skills in different areas through educational toys and activities is our way of imparting education to children.
Story time
Through out the year multiple story sessions are planned out. Popular story tellers are invited to conduct story sessions. Along with the stories, children do various activities related to the stories. Take a peek at one such story session conducted by Jeeva Raghunath in the video below:
and much more....
